Guests will have the chance to enjoy a variety of excellent fly fishing opportunities targeting Dolly Varden, Pink Salmon, sea run cutthroat, and silver salmon.  

These trips are ideal for non-anglers too, offering a variety of activities beyond fly fishing. It’s a prime opportunity to spot bears, whales, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. You can also get hands-on with setting crab and shrimp pots, or even catch your own dinner from the abundant waters. Each trip can be customized to suit the interests of your group, making it the perfect choice for anyone wanting a well-rounded Alaskan adventure beyond just fly fishing.

Sample Itinerary*: We ask that you please arrive at the town of departure one day before the start of the trip, and schedule return flights one day after returning to port.

Arrive at the boat and meet your guides. Settle into the boat, your floating lodge for the week. After a trip briefing, enjoy the cruise to the first fishing spot with a meal and drinks.

Wake up to beautiful Alaskan scenery. After breakfast, head out for a full day of fly fishing. Non-anglers can spot wildlife or set crab pots. End the day with a delicous dinner back on the boat.

Set the crab and shrimp pots in the morning. Spend the rest of the day fishing in remote waters, accessible thanks to the boat’s mobility. Wrap up with a fresh catch dinner anchored in a beautiful Alaskan bay.

Explore Alaska’s hidden coves and rivers, fishing for various species. Spend the morning or evening cruising the beach searching for wildlife like bears and whales. Enjoy a campfire on a secluded beach.

Spend the morning hiking to the alpine for lunch with a view. In the afternoon ish remote rivers accessible only by boat.  Check the shrimp pots. The day is tailored to your group’s preferences.

How do I get there? – Anglers will fly into Petersburg and are expected to arrive the day before the trip

begins. Anglers will fly home from Petersburg, and can plan to stay the night in Petersburg after day 7.
We are happy to discuss all travel itineraries before booking to make sure you are all set!

Fishing – We will fish multiple streams around southeast Alaska as we use Sally Girl to explore different
destinations. Along with the freshwater fly fishing, we will set crab pots, shrimp pots, and possibly catch some bottom
fish for dinner.

Tongass on the Fly is happy to provide all the gear you’ll need, but we warmly welcome anglers to bring their favorite rods, reels, and equipment to make the experience even more personal and enjoyable.

We will provide leader and tippet material along with flies for all trips.

Accommodations – Sally Girl is a 45ft troller/charter vessel. She has three bunks in a V-berth at the front of the boat, and
another set up bunks in the main salon. The boat also has a galley for cooking delicious meals and a

Cancellation Policy: A nonrefundable deposit of 30% is required to reserve dates for a charter with the full balance due 90 days prior to departure. 

Tongass on the Fly strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance and full coverage for your trip.
